Smudge was created by Heretic founder Douglas Little to celebrate the ancient practice of using ceremonial smoke to clear energy in a space. Driven by a desire to connect with his Scotch-Irish heritage, he sought inspiration from the protecting and purifying rite of Druidic saining, where juniper is burned to generate an aromatic and healing smoke.

HOW IT WEARS
Smudge opens with a sharp hit of cedar and frankincense, brightened by the spicy Sichuan pepper. The smoked juniper and clary sage then appear, creating the spectacular fiery heart of this fragrance. The dry down is all about the dark, resinous labdanum and patchouli, which linger on the skin for 6-8 hours.

We love the unique, earthy patchouli hit you get from Smudge. This scent is powerfully but not overbearingly smoky, like a wave of a smudge stick. I absolutely LOVE this scent!! It is my favourite ever, seriously, and would recommend it to everyone. It says it’s gender neutral and it is, I have men and women smell it and love it as well. Maybe I am a bit biased but I couldn’t be happier with it. Yes, it’s not cheap but you get what you pay for which is a quality fragrance that wears beautifully on the skin.
