Anna opens with a really fresh and uplifting Marine note. This is the most prominent initlaly and feels like a gentle sea breeze, then we gradually get the sweet Rose and Ylang Ylang creating a little more depth to the fragrance. Such a wonderful pairing – Rose and Marine, we love the airiness, they feel weightless on the skin and super clean.

Of course Anna takes us to the canals of Amsterdam – she is incredibly chic, riding her bicycle through the city, along the canals, the fresh scent of the water is flowing through her long hair as she rides. ABOUT THE BRAND
Born in 1774, Pierre-Francois Lubin lived in a period thought to be the most eventful in France’s history. He began his career as a perfume apprentice at the age of 10 to the famous Jean-Louis Fargeon in 1784. During this time under Fargeon’s tutelage, Lubin came to be entrusted with the beauty recipes of the French Royal Court. Fargeon came from a dynasty of expert perfumers and was Marie Antoinette’s official fragrance supplier. Renowned as the ‘holder of the secrets of beauty of the old court of France’ and thanks to his illustrious patronage, Lubin became the favourite perfumer of many European Courts. In 1821, he became the appointed official supplier of the King of England George IV. Then, in 1823 perfumer to the great Tsar of Russia Alexander I.

Oh ANNA, what a delicious potion. Definitely get the sharp, ripe blend of Marine and Bergamot first. This quite quickly softens to a lovely blend of the Rose and Ylang Ylang. Final dry down is enhanced generously by the Ambroxide which gives long sillage and you’re seduced by this so perfectly blended with the White Musk and Sandalwood. The Ambroxide in itself is a woody/amber, sweet earthy scent which I happen to know can last many days just on blotting paper. I’ve loved so many of the Lublin fragrances. I thought my favourite was Not APerfume layered with Lady Vengeance until Anna came along. Well there goes that theory! This is for a woman with a rock ‘n’ roll attitude (me of course) but can still live in a world of flowers. Stunning!
