Collaborating with fragrance royalty, Michel Roudnitska on this vision of Saskia’s dream Magnolia. Michel was inspired by his childhood summers and always felt drawn to Magnolias. The flower possessed him. He was fascinated by the scent and forty years into his career as a perfumer, he created his ode to Magnolias. A scent not just for himself but as a gift to Saskia and in honour and tribute to the passing of their dear friend Sandrine Videault who created Grandiflora’s original Magnolia scent. In contrast to Sandrine’s version, this Magnolia is rich and creamy with a hint of green freshness on the top. The nostalgic scent of Magnolias at dusk a summer day, the floral notes become headier as the sun begins to set. There is a creamy and delicate floral tone that comes alive in that moment between light and dark. A beautiful ode to complete the Magnolia story that Sandrine began – starting with Sandrine’s morning blooming Magnolia and completing the story with the florals at nightfall. HOW IT WEARS
This fragrance is an Eau de Parfum and the longevity with Grandiflora is generally about 6 – 8 hours, however we really get around 6 hours with this particular scent. It has a tremendous burst of scent, before becoming more gentle and floating over the skin as the note of Magnolia shines through. The opening bursts out in a potent display, and after a few minutes it sinks into a slightly powdery, fresh white floral. There is the creaminess of Jasmine that compliments the Magnolia perfectly and the Citrus notes help to ensure this scent doesn’t overwhelm with the heady white floral notes. It also has a slight green earthiness underpinning the floral, which we attribute to the vetiver.

An ode to Sandrine, this is the last moments of the Magnolia flower. The sun is setting now, and the light is fading. This is the Magnolia flower’s last breath in the world before the flower drops off the branch to the ground. This is the rich beauty of the Magnolia.
