For the first time, Beaufort London brings together their two extant collections – “Come Hell or High Water’” and “Revenants” – in a boxed Discovery Set.
The set contains eight 2ml vials – an opportunity to explore the Beaufort method, madness, and gain an appreciation for what can happen when one steps outside the conventional.

Tonerre EDP
Thunder in a bottle, Tonerre is inspired by The Battle of Trafalgar, a naval clash that occurred during the Napoleonic wars. Like a bloody sea battle, this scent is made up of powerful accords of smoke, gunpowder, blood and brandy, combined with sea spray and a penetrating citrus note.
Coeur de Noir EDP
Inspired by Joseph Conrad’s iconic novella, Heart of Darkness, Coeur de Noir is the scent of ink, rum, old leather bookbinding, and the sea. Warm, boozy spiced notes mingle darkly and deliciously with pipe tobacco, inked parchment, and wood.
Vi et Armis EDP
This addictive fragrance is inspired by the Opium Wars, and so of course contains an opium accord. Using the historical cargoes of British ships as inspiration for its other notes (tea, whiskey, incense, tobacco, spices etc) Vi et Armis is powerfully rich in potency and steeped in maritime history.
Lignum Vitae EDP
The hardwood Lignum Vitae was the only wood that would withstand corrosion on the seas for long periods, so was used in place of metal to create clocks for ships. This fragrance is the scent of cut Lignum Vitae – sawdust like you’ve never smelt before. Rich, yet dry and sweet without being sickly.
Fathom V EDP
Named after the unit of measurement used for determining the depth of water, Fathom V is an ode to the sea. Cold, green, wet, earthy, salty – this scent is a deep dive into the ocean – eternally changing, intense and alluring, calm and wild.
Iron Duke EDP
A tribute to Arthur Wellesley, Duke Of Wellington (1769 – 1852), a celebrated horseman, warrior politician, and sartorial pioneer. The effervescent tang of warm sweat, saddle soap, and leather together create a sensual and animalic combination for a rich, masculine, fleshy yet clean scent.
Rake & Ruin EDP
Rake & Ruin is inspired by William Hogarth’s series of eight paintings, “A Rake’s Progress”, depicting the descent of the protagonist to his hedonist downfall. This fragrance depicts a scene of gin-soaked taverns, gambling, sex work, and general debauchery to the extreme.
Terror & Magnificence EDP
Baroque architect Nicholas Hawksmoor inspired this scent, which brings together the austerity of Georgian gothic church architecture and the architect’s obsession with the occult, mythology, and Egyptology. A dark, smoky, resinous creation.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Beaufort London is an incredibly unique English perfume house created by musician and writer Leo Crabtree. Inspired by Crabtree’s lifelong love of fragrance mixed with his fascination with the darker elements of British history, Beaufort London’s first collection of intense, and bold perfumes is titled “Come Hell or High Water”. Coming from a family history of seamen, Crabtree also references the sea throughout this collection. “The sea, its traditions, superstitions and way of life are ingrained in me. The brand’s name Beaufort London (derived from the 1805 wind force scale conjured up by Naval Officer Sir Francis Beaufort) represents a kind of framework within which we can understand ourselves. The wind in consistent, enduring, but ultimately changeable and potentially destructive.”
