And The Aroma Award Goes To…
In the spirit of awards season, we thought it might be fun to have a bit of an awards ceremony of our own.
Here are the winners of Lore Perfumery’s 2023 Aroma Awards:
Best Perfume In A Leading Role
A worthy recipient of this award, Scandalwood just oozes main character energy. It’s a scent fit for a sex siren, created with the eye of a visionary – burlesque star Dita Von Teese. With a soft, red-lipped whisper and an all-consuming allure, this sultry sandalwood can never be upstaged!
Best Perfume In A Supporting Role
Not A Perfume
Juliette Has A Gun
Best Costume Design
When Cuoium turned up in its embossed vegetal leather case, with its rusted cap accented with more tanned faux leather, it automatically won this award. The costume does an excellent job of encapsulating the feel of the fragrance, which itself is inspired by leather handicrafts.
Best Cinematography
Agneta is such an evocative scent – it takes you yachting from the Mediterranean all the way to the ports of North Africa – each individual note so vivid you almost feel you’re there! The bottle adds to the stunning imagery of the scent, with its marbled resin cap, curved lines and enticing amber juice.
Best Short Film
Short, sweet, effective – the winner for Best Short Film must be Sunset Hour. In a handy mini 10ml vial, it’s perfect for travel or on the go, and for refreshing your scent throughout the day. With Australian desert peach plus a cocktail of other delicious fruits, it’s hard to go past this one.
Best Original Music
Founder of Room 1015, Dr Mike wins the award for Best Original Music this year. Each fragrance he creates has a corresponding playlist dedicated to encapsulating the aesthetics and feel of the scent, forming a connection between the fragrance, music and the stories they have to tell.
Best Director
With his determination to let the raw materials he painstakingly sources speak for themselves, the only obvious recipient of the Best Director award is Aurélien Guichard of Matiere Premiere. A creator of compelling stories, each scent he produces changes the world of fragrance for the better.
Best Picture
Cherry Punk has to win best picture this season – not only has it been a best-seller, but it’s also been an absolute favourite amongst all of our staff. A true showstopper (or starter?) Cherry Punk’s unique and intoxicating mix of cherry, spice and leather has captured hearts everywhere.
Congratulations to all our worthy winners. But all of our fragrances are deserving of nominations and attention.
